LETTER FROM A NEIGHBOR
I served on the board for about 7 years in
three different positions: VP Programs, VP Membership and President.
It’s a fantastic way to be active in your community and participate in
its future as we all strive to keep this a great place to live. Our
association is different than most others you may be familiar with and
the level of participation to serve is less; I averaged 4-6 hours per
month handling board business. While I served on the board I was a Sales
Manager for a large company and handled a 4-state territory which
required somewhat regular travel but it was always easy to integrate the
time I needed for the association into my personal life. I never felt
that I had to sacrifice anything to serve on the board. During my
service I learned a lot about my neighborhood, its origin and history
and I got to meet many of the great people who live here.
Although not on the board, I still
participate in my neighborhood; I deliver the Crier on three routes
(about 65 homes), raise the flag on our entryway flag pole on holidays,
and help on events when asked to. With 427 homes and nearly 1,000
residents comprising this neighborhood, it should be no problem to keep
the 6 board positions filled each year. I encourage everyone to consider
this small request and volunteer to keep our neighborhood great. We all
benefit from a safe and clean neighborhood. Please contact any current
board member for more information. Thank you.
